The Bum Post
Posted on June 29th, 2007. Filed under: Daily.Reading all these “June bug” posts in my Google Reader is turning into an epidemic. It’s contagious but I don’t wanna be bitten by the June Bug. No! I’m already a June bum as far as it goes. The weird thing is that, it doesn’t seem like the first week of vacation for me. It’s like I’ve been bumming for a few weeks now. Oh well, life of a bum.
I was in Singapore Tuesday afternoon til Wednesday morning. I met up with one of my good friends back from high school, Glenn, who is also my best friend’s boyfriend. We had a good conversation about middle school + high school combined over coffee, tea, sandwiches and salad. When in bum mode, a good reminiscing is always a good feeling. And when it’s the Singapore Great Sale, good company and conversation is always great to avoid spending the money. That’s what I felt. We talked and walked the streets of Orchard until midnight. It was good, especially since he’s leaving for Los Angeles in less than a week, for university.
I feel sad for a fact that we’re all (high school friends) starting to scatter across the globe for our education. I did it first, when I went back to the Philippines, but I came back again. Now, it’s their turn. Canada, all across US, UK, Europe, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia etc etc. It’s crazy. I hope there comes a time when we all get together for some big reunion. It’s going to come, hopefully. For me, I just have to wait until I get over 2 and a half years and move to Perth for my last semester.
In other news, here are the things I’m totally excited about in the weeks to come.
- Transformers (Oh Shia!! Oh Josh!)
- Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix (Because I ♥ RW)
- The 7th Harry Potter installment
- Random hangs with friends
Bring on the summer!

yay! transformers is already playing in theaters now here.
yeah, june bug, seems all are infected with that contagious sickness. i’m immune to that, and bugs are rich in protein by the way.

Billycoy: I’m making myself immune to it as well. Aww man, when I left Singapore, that’s when Transformers came out. Booo.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with bumming. Heck, that’s what I’ve been doing since May 1.
Your posts I comment at always makes me miss my friends so badly. :P Your talk of a reunion reminds me that my parents are leaving for LA in 2 weeks for their reunions (my dad with his fraternity buddies and my mom with her high school batch). I can’t wait that long for a big reunion! Lol.
I’m excited for Transformers, even though I don’t know if we’re going to watch it right away. :P It usually depends if Kuya Erik’s in the mood since he’s the one with the job (and therefore has the money for me and my younger brothers’ tickets, hehehe). Also, I am SO glad that there is someone else besides me who still hearts Ron Weasley. <3 Hehe.

I wish I could say the same for myself “Bring on the summer!” Haha, but I guess I’m stuck with “Yuck, school.”
Awww. I remember Orchard Rd. It’s so nice to walk there, unlike here in Manila where it’s all congested with pollution and traffic and unnatural heat. Plus, there’s practically no sidewalk to walk on here.
Well, at least I could say the same na..
I’m watching out for HP (book and movie) + transformers, too! yaaay. Oh, and random hangs with friends since we’re all together in school now..

June bugs are scary
Hope you enjoy transformers

Keng: Yay for Ron Weasley! He’s so adorable. I know what you mean about reunions, I miss my friends back in the Philippines too.
Cars: My friend and I were in an outdoor cafe and we said that we never get these kinds of things in Indo where the air is healthy and nice outside haha.
Vicky: I know I’ll enjoy it!

I miss my high school friends.
Well, you guys are scattered all over the world while my friends are just around the corner. I was just the only one who opted to study in a province.
I guess I was kinda infected by that June bug. Buuuut, well, school’s cool! LOL. No one can blame me for enjoying it.
Oh. HP! Am also waiting for that!
June 29th, 2007 at 5:39 pm
Shia LeBeouf is from Even Stevens right? He’s the also the guy in Keannu Reeve’s movie with all the exorcisms and devils right? LOL.
Anyway, wow.. Perth! Hopefully, I’ll be in BC, Canada by next year. Hay.

The reviews for OoTP have been mediocre. I really hope it isn’t that bad because I’m too excited for my own good.
June 29th, 2007 at 6:30 pm
Yna: Hey, school’s cool is better than a boring life! Enjoy
Jhed: Yup that’s him. I &heart; him to the core core core.
Amber: I don’t usually read reviews until after the movie so that my views won’t change. Either way, I’ll still love it no matter what!

if you’re sad by the fact that you and your friends are invading the planet, i feel sadder by the fact that me and my friends are so stuck up here in the Metro and we can’t seem to find time to meet.
i only want to see transformers and my HS friends. harry potter is out of the question, period.
June 30th, 2007 at 12:14 am
oh oh oh! i`m excited for transformers too!!
just a few of my HS friends are out of the country for school, but most of them are scattered across the country, and we dont get to see each other that much unless it’s summer break or something.
as long as you keep in touch with them while they are away, there’s a big chance you’d still be friends with them 10, 20 years from now! and for sure, you’d still be seeing each other whatever happens.

I totally understand what you mean by having your friends scatter all over the place. I have friends who are getting ready to leave. I am one of the lame ones I guess going to one of the universities near by. But We’ll all keep in touch of course, or so I hope. Most of them I’ve been friends with since I was like 2. But oh well..
I am so excited for the 7th book, as well as the movie is going to be great. RW I am assuming stands for Ronald Weasley?

I heard Shia did great there! But I’m not after the dude, though. Disturbia is still the undisputed peak of his career. Anyhoo, I’ve been a Transformers freakazoid since like, time immemorial that in fact, I have me some robots here and there and as this is the first Live Action evar to grace the theaters, then I’d go for it.
June 30th, 2007 at 10:09 pm
I love International friendships! Hehe! But It is sad that you guys won’t be seeing each other for a while. Thank goodness I am yet to be bitten by that June Bug!
I just saw Transformers earlier today!!! Woohoo!!! Its awesome by the way.
And, if you love Shia now, you’ll love him even more in this movie, I think he’s gonna be the next big award-winning star.
June 30th, 2007 at 10:16 pm
I wanna watch Transformers too, but I haven’t gotten the chance. And I’m excited for HP too! Both book and movie.
Erm, what’s a June bug?
Funny, just before I read your post, I was missing my gradeschool friends badly.
(question: the addition question used for verification… is the answer ALWAYS 7?)
July 1st, 2007 at 7:30 pm
Hey Juice! I’ve watched transformers already.. GO WATCH IT! haha. Shia is looove. Hahahahaha.
July 2nd, 2007 at 10:54 am
Nako! You would SOOOO LOOOVE the Transformers. It is actually worth watching again. Their digital sound when they transform is actually my message tone. That’s how addicted I am to it now, haha!
