The Wisdom of Pain
Posted on May 16th, 2008. Filed under: LULZ, Rantage. So guess whose gums look like this?

I’m exaggerating. Only a part of my gums look & FEEL like that (like shit basically), exactly the one on the back-right side. Haven’t guessed yet? Yup. It’s the growth of the wisdom tooth. It sucks, and it hurts and my gums are tearing. I’m sad and it’s making me feel down. My teeth are perfectly fine, I practically have no dental problems, now this.
Hello, painkillers and antibiotics! Care to keep me company?

The surgery’s not so bad… the healing process is.
I had two removed 4 years ago - on either side!

Ouch. I had to go through that 2 years ago, and I still remember how much it hurts. :/ There’s the gum-swelling, too, ugh. I drank Aleve for over-the-counter maximum pain-numbing effects, hahaha.
On a side note, this is the… 3rd time I got 2+4 as my math question on your comment form. Sorry, I’m highly amused. I normally don’t pay attention to such things.

Benj: Should I really get a surgery?! My mom is so against it! :-s

Well, it’s ultimately the dentist’s and the dental surgeon’s call. My surgery was necessary because my teeth were growing in weird angles already. The cool part was that the teeth were taken out in one piece and I still have them today.

They suck, don’t they? My left side of my mouth has been taken over by pain because of the things I like to call “Agony”. Anyway, good luck with it! :P

i’m glad i’m over that stage and i don’t even experience surgery.
try pain relievers. or try mental pain blocking. think of happy thoughts.or sleep more. it’ll help.
=)

Mine grew horizontally and was hitting the neighboring teeth (med speak: impacted). Like this:

Ouch? You bet.

Ouch ouch ouch! That’s gotta hurt. Any teeth problem that ever exists means pain in the ass! I think something similar to that happened to me once, and it definitely hurt so I had it removed as soon as possible even though my mom told me to ‘wait’. I can’t wait any longer because the pain is driving me mad and giving me all sorts of mood swings.. Ugh.
I agree with the comment about mental pain blocking, it does wonders!

I had my wisdom tooth removed last year and didn’t feel any pain - during and after. My dentist was surprisingly good. hehe.
I think you should have the surgery. I ignored the pain (and the bleeding!) my wisdom tooth brought me for over a year, but when I finally got it removed, it brought me a kind of relief I never imagined I’d have. Parang nabunutan ng tinik — literally. hehe

Stupid wisdom tooth.

I’m really hoping (and praying hard) that my wisdom tooth wouldn’t grow. Whaa.

I had problems with one of my wisdom teeth, so I got all FOUR pulled. Didn’t want to risk ANY of them bothering me after. No problems since!
